February's Summer Days

Wow, it has been one warm February! Today was the warmest yet. To be sure we enjoyed the sun, Ashley and I took the kids and Daisy for a long walk on the paved trail near my house. The kids helped make muffins and ate them outside (where Daisy stole Tavin's and we had a big showdown getting it back.  I did some spray painting and sitting in the sun. Trajen went exploring on a hill in the neighborhood with his friends. They had been making plans on the bus. He came home and said he needed to pack a snack and meet at Jaxon B's house. Boy did they have a good time. And boy are they getting independent. After that we went to Chilis for dinner since it was kids eat free night, and I didn't want to cook (like usual:). Then, as if that wasn't enough fun for one day, Dad and the boys went to the Lego Movie. Meanwhile, Tenny and I did a few fun things: a dance party in the shower, sang songs, and did puzzles. To top the day off, I got 95% of the laundry done. I'd say it was a great February day!

Million Dollar Smile

Trajen has a million dollar smile. When he is truly happy and showing his biggest smile, I am truly happy, too! His smile can totally make my day! When he got home from school I asked him how his day was. He said it was good! Soooo good! No reason why really, I guess. But boy his good mood sure can rub off on me. It's a warm February day. So warm he wore shorts to school. After enjoying his after school snack he was off to Gavin's to play for the next few hours. Then home for dinner and happy to do his chores so that he would be able to play the iPad. He was a pretty good boy all day! Then when he was in bed he had questions about his friend getting his tonsils out. And he couldn't wait for his dad to bring pup in to sleep with him for the night. I told him how I loved seeing him smile so big today and how happy it made me. He said well if you could see the big big smile I have in my face right now! Last he said there's one more thing that's missing. A hug and a kiss from you! That was enough to pull me off the comfy recliner in their room (where I sit while they settle down) and give him just that. I love my big boy. And I love to see him so happy. :)
